TPO Roofing Systems

Protect your building and improve efficiency starting at the top.

By installing TPO Single Ply Roofing Systems you get a significant reduction in roof’s surface temperature which promote greater energy efficiency, more indoor comfort, and lower electricity bills. It’s no surprise that Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roofs are the fastest growing, sustainable commercial and residential roofing products available. And with two decades of Single Ply roofing installation experience, A-1 All American Roofing proudly offers a wide variety of choices in TPO systems.

Suitable for a variety of Low-Slope Commercial and Residential roofing applications, TPO roofing membrane is a sustainable roofing solution for a wide range of building types. TPO formulation is designed to provide excellent ozone and chemical resistance, ensuring long-term roof performance. Plus, TPO is environmentally friendly, offers superior puncture resistance and costs less than competitive roofing materials.

TPO membrane also offers design options with membrane available in reflective White, Tan or Gray, which can help reduce a building’s cooling requirements. White and Tan TPO membranes meet the new version of the California Energy Efficiency Standards for Residential and Nonresidential Buildings (Title 24). These standards define cool roofs in California to have a minimum three-year aged reflectance of 0.55 and a minimum thermal emittance of 0.75 for low-sloped nonresidential buildings.

White and Tan TPO membranes are listed with the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC), and meet or exceed the new Title 24 requirements for low-slope roofing membranes. The listing for White and Tan TPO membranes can be found on the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) web site.

The flexible, hot-air welded membrane is available in 5’, 6′, 10′ and 12′ widths and thicknesses of .045″, .060″ and .080″.

The Terms Low-slope and Steep-slope Describe Roof Slope.

Slope is how much a roof slants. A low-sloped roof is one that has a slope of less than 3 inches per foot. This means that for every horizontal foot, the roof level goes up less than 3 inches vertically.  Steep slope means that the slope is 3 inches per foot or more.

It is not hard to remember the difference between horizontal and vertical. Think about the fact that the sun sets “over the horizon.” This will remind you that the horizon is flat. Horizontal means across or flat. Vertical means up and down.

To figure out roof slope, you need to know two measurements. These measurements are called the rise and the run.

The rise is the vertical distance. You can remember this is the vertical measurement because rise means to go up. It goes from the lowest point of the roof to the highest point. The run is the horizontal distance. It goes from the vertical line of the rise to the outer edge of the roof.

0.55 and a Minimum Thermal Emittance of 0.75 for Low-sloped Nonresidential Buildings.

Why Choose TPO?

TPO, or Thermoplastic Poly Olefin, roofing systems are rapidly becoming the top choice among clients from every genre of industry – and with good reason. TPO offers superior protection against virtually anything Mother Nature can throw at your building; from excessive heat and cold to high wind and the most torrential downpours. It is strong, highly-reflective qualities make it an ideal choice for enduring the long Chicago summers, while the use of welded seams helps safeguard your investment against leaks and other potential problems.

TPO formulation is designed to provide excellent ozone and chemical resistance, ensuring long-term roof performance. Plus, TPO is environmentally friendly, offers superior puncture resistance (especially against hail) and costs less than competitive roofing materials. When properly installed, this innovative roofing system can help reduce both heating and air conditioning bills. TPO is available in several neutral color shades, including white, cream, tan and gray. Maintaining a TPO roof is minimal, though regular seasonal cleaning is strongly advised and a service we offer. A-1 All American Roofing has extensive experience in this popular application and stands behind each and every installation we design. Here are some of the main benefits:

Why Replace Your Roof When You Can Restore It?

Restoration systems are used as a sustainable alternative to conventional roofing.  Our systems are designed to be installed directly over existing roof systems or as a new membrane on new construction.

Los Angeles Area Roof Restoration Contractor
WHY REPLACE YOUR ROOF WHEN YOU CAN RESTORE IT?

Our system is installed directly over existing roofing membranes using highly durable, water based, waterproofing compounds reinforced with tough polyester fabrics and surfaced with energy saving reflective coatings.  Once installed the seamless monolithic system is tough, flexible and resistant to the extremes of nature.  In addition, these systems meet California Title 24 requirements and are Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) approved.

Increased awareness of the benefits of cool roofs has sparked interest with building owners in the past several years. More importantly, with the passing of Title 24 Energy Efficiency Building Standards in California and the financial incentives given by the utilities companies, “cool roofing” is now the fastest growing sector in the roofing industry. But meeting the standards for “cool roofing” can be a confusing endeavor. At no cost to you, A-1 All American Roofing would be happy to send a qualified project manager to inspect your roof and prepare a specification designed to address your roofing needs.

Benefits of Roof Restoration:

  • No tear off is required meaning no additional waste going to landfills and no exposure to the elements
  • Water based systems mean every part of the installation process is non-toxic and harmless to the environment. No fire hazardand will not affect employee/tenant productivity due to toxic fumes.
  • Fluid applied results in a seamless finish making future inspections and maintenance easy. It also means the roof can be resurfaced, thereby extending the life of the roof indefinitely.
  • Systems can be applied over BUR, Modified Bitumen, Single Ply, Metal Roofing, Sprayed Polyurethane Foam and Gravel.
  • Significantly cut the cost of maintaining an old and weathered roofand saves on energy and equipment maintenance costs (starting immediately after the roof is installed).

Tile Roof and it's Benefits

Appearance

Both clay and concrete tile roofs are beautiful. The available styles and colors will help enhance any architecture resulting in curb appeal that is not available with other roofing materials. Adding the performance and longevity of a tile roof to its aesthetic qualities results in a project that gets noticed. Whether you are a production builder looking for ways to differentiate your development or a homeowner who plans to sell your home in the near future, a tile roof will help increase the home's value.

Strength and Longevity

Through rain, snow, high wind and hail, a properly installed tile roof can withstand the elements providing years of worry-free performance. All roof tile is Class A fire rated and can help to lower energy costs by reducing heat transfer through air circulation under the tile and through concrete's inherent insulating properties. Most tile meets or exceeds current seismic load requirements when properly fastened. Both clay and concrete tile are protected by Limited Lifetime Product Warranty.

Affordability

When you consider that a tile roof will last for the life of the structure, the full life-cycle cost of the roof is quite affordable when compared to other roofing materials. With regular maintenance, the hassle and expense of reroofing is minimized or eliminated

Energy Efficient

Most tile manufacturers are committed to developing a cohesive green program focused on delivering, energy-efficient products and systems. The systems are designed to reduce waste and pollution as well as preserves much-needed resources. The way these systems are more energy efficient are:

  • Energy Saving Roof - This type of roof system naturally ventilates the space between the roof and the deck, reducing heat transfer into the attic by up to 50% when compared to asphalt roofs. The result means less work for the air conditioner, less expenditure of energy and lower electrical bills for the end user.
  • Cool Roof Tile - Cool Roof Tile colors are available for reroofing and new construction projects, which are approved by ENERGY STAR and the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) for reflectivity. Certain colors may be eligible for rebates through utility companies or government rebate programs. Homes built with CRRC rated products may also be compliant with California's 2008 Title 24 requirements. Buildings using reflective roofing can expect a 7%-15% savings on cooling costs while helping reduce the "heat island effect" on the environment. In addition, Cool Roof Tile may also help a project qualify for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) points ultimately allowing that project to qualify for LEED certification.
  • Manufacturing Process - Most roof tile manufacturers are recycling and using recycled products in their environmentally friendly efforts. The modernization of energy efficient equipment in the plants leads to significantly reducing haul-off from their plants into landfills.

Styles and Colors

The wide variety of colors allows homeowners, architects, roofers and builders the ability to find just the right shape and blend for any given architecture. The colors have been designed by professionals with a keen sense of aesthetics and understanding trends in exterior finishes. Whether you're looking for vibrant blends or more naturalistic hues, Tile has everything you need to meet your roofing needs.

PVC Roofing Systems

Protect Your Building and Improve Efficiency Starting at the Top.

By installing Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Single Ply Roofing Systems you get a significant reduction in roof’s surface temperature which promote greater energy efficiency, more indoor comfort, and lower electricity bills. It’s no surprise that PVC roofs are the fastest growing, sustainable commercial and residential roofing products available. And with two decades of Single Ply roofing installation experience, A-1 All American Roofing proudly offers a wide variety of choices in PVC systems.

PVC roofing membrane is a high-performance, versatile sheet that is ideal for re-roofing and new construction projects. This product offers building owners the best of both worlds, featuring a superior puncture and tear-resistant membrane, with both chemical and UV resistance.

PVC is reinforced with a fiberglass or polyester scrim, further enhancing its physical properties and making one of the most high-performance roofing membranes on the market. They are uniquely formulated to withstand ponding water. Moisture will not pass through the membrane and ponding water will not affect the performance or warranty of PVC single-ply membranes.

These membranes are produced in labor-saving 5’, 6’, and 10’ foot widths, providing the building owner with a roof that has 67% fewer seams than Modified Bitumen roofs of a comparable size. This product will contribute toward LEED® credit requirements in new construction due to its highly reflective white color and it Title 24 compliant on all re-roofs.

PVC and KEE Roofing Systems

Proven Long-term Solutions for Commercial and Industrial Buildings

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and KEE (Ketone Ethylene Ester)  single ply membranes are often the ideal choice for commercial and industrial buildings  because PVC provides the strength and durability needed for long-term performance. PVC and KEE membranes have withstood the test of time with over 40 years in the roofing industry.  Unlike TPO which is still going through formulation changes, the consistency of PVC has remained virtually unchanged for 40 years.

Installing a PVC or KEE single ply roofing systems can be done directly over most existing membranes, eliminating adding to land fills as well as causing minimal disruption to building occupants. In addition, PVC and KEE membranes have the highest fire resistance of any roofing membrane, providing added protection for the building and its occupants. Choosing a  PVC roofing system for your building will help to ensure a long service life with excellent performance.

Energy Savings and Fire Safety

PVC and KEE bright white roofing membranes provide excellent reflectivity, helping to save on air conditioning costs, reduce total operational costs, and keep the building and its occupants cool. PVC and KEE membranes also provide exceptional fire resistance; in the event of a fire, the PVC will self-extinguish when the ignition source is removed, reducing the chance of the fire spreading to other parts of the building.

Resistant to Foot Traffic

PVC and KEE roofing membranes are strengthened by tenacious, polyester or fiberglass reinforcing fabrics that enhance resistance to the punctures and tears that can be caused by routine foot traffic. PVC and KEE are classified as Type IV – the strongest/highest rating available – according to the ASTM D4434 PVC Standard. Most TPO membranes are only rated as Type III.  Many manufacturers offer a puncture resistance warranty coverage as well as a 0% exclusion to standing water.

Quick Installation Time

Because PVC and KEE membranes are available in in 5', 6’, 10’ and 12' widths, they are fast and easy to apply, allowing installations to be completed quickly with minimal disruption to the occupants. PVC and KEE single ply roofing membranes have the largest selection of systems to match any requirement, including fully adhered and mechanically fastened assemblies. PVC and KEE membranes are stocked at most every roofing supply location across the nation for quick shipment to jobsites.

Full Line of Labor-saving Flashing  Accessories

PVC and KEE single ply roofing systems offer a complete line of custom and prefabricated flashing accessories to fit any size and shape of penetration or corner. The prefabricated flashing accessories are made from PVC membrane enhanced with KEE which provides excellent protection at critical transition areas. No conventional roofing assembly comes with 100% compatible accessories.

PVC System Warranties

Building owners are more and more retaining their buildings for a longer period of time, therefore long term warranties are a valuable commodity.  PVC and KEE warranties range from 5 to 30 years, depending on your system. Conventional built-up hot asphalt roofing system only offer 10 to 12 year warranties, or the manufacturer charges a premium to extend the warranty.  Total System Warranties and No-Dollar-Limit warranties are also available with the PVC and KEE systems.  These warranties do not depreciate over time or require a costly maintenance program. With a Total System Warranty, you can rest assured that your roofing investment is protected.

Benefits of PVC Roofing Systems

PVC Membrane

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) single-ply membranes have been around for nearly 50 years, since the first installations in Europe in the 1960s. Since then, PVC membranes have quickly gained popularity in the roofing industry, and for the past 30 years have become recognized as a sustainable alternative for low-slope roofing systems.

PVC is now installed on thousands of rooftops across the world and is known for its durability and resistance to damage caused by water, fi re and puncture. PVC membranes will perform to the highest standards with a durability that is backed by industry-leading warranty coverage.

PVC Line of Products Include:

  • Polyester and fiberglass reinforced membranes for use on mechanically attached and fully adhered applications
  • Elvaloy® KEE-enhanced membranes for increased chemical resistance
  • 10-foot-wide membranes for fewer seams
  • Fleece-backed membranes for increased puncture resistance and durability

Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

As energy costs continue to rise, so does the need for energy-efficient roofing systems. PVC highly reflective membranes can significantly lower ongoing operating costs by reducing air-conditioning usage, minimizing the urban heat island effect and also helping to slow the formation of smog-forming pollutants.  PVC membranes are ENERGY STAR® qualified, Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) rated, compliant with California’s Title 24 and can also contribute toward LEED® credit requirements.

Strength & Durability

Composed of three layers - a PVC polymer bottom ply, a strong polyester - reinforced fabric scrim and a tough thermoplastic PVC - compounded top ply PVC is specifically designed for long-term performance. Because of its enhanced durability PVC is also highly resistant to fi re and chemicals including acids, bases, restaurant oils and grease. PVC also offers increased wind resistance and has surpassed Factory Mutual’s I-90 wind resistance classification, one of the most stringent standards in the industry. PVC also resists damage that can be caused by roof traffic and construction, ensuring that your rooftop remains in ideal condition throughout the construction process.

Code Approvals

With enhanced wind uplift resistance and fi retardant characteristics, PVC membranes all meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM D4434. The membranes are also UL and FM approved and meet the requirements of Miami-Dade and the Florida Building Code.
